Gnarwhal, from Yellowknife, Canada, formed in 2021, combines heavy alternative fuzz rock with doom, grunge and progressive metal elements. Their 2023 self-titled debut album earned a Western Canadian Music Award nomination, which was followed by their Altered States EP dropped in 2024. They've made their mark on stages and festivals, solidifying their position in contemporary stoner rock.
